From the Ashes was founded by two women who have lived recovery, built recovery, and now serve others in recovery every day.

Tina Gentry and Kristin Miles are both Certified Peer Recovery Specialists who currently work in a rehab and detox unit, providing direct support to individuals in some of the hardest stages of early recovery. Their work is not just professional, it is personal.

Both Tina and Kristin have successfully completed sober living, giving them firsthand understanding of what it takes to move from chaos to stability, from addiction to accountability, and from surviving to truly rebuilding a life.

Tina is a Reentry Court graduate with 8 years of sobriety. Kristin has 7 years of sobriety. Together, they remain actively involved in the recovery community and are passionate about helping women find structure, support, and lasting change.

At From the Ashes, leadership comes from lived experience, professional knowledge, and a real commitment to recovery. Tina and Kristin created this home to offer women the kind of environment that promotes healing, accountability, growth, and purpose.

Why We Lead

We know recovery is about more than just getting clean. It is about learning how to live differently, think differently, and build a new foundation.

Because we have walked this road ourselves, we understand the importance of:

structure

accountability

peer support

community involvement

long-term recovery

From the Ashes was built to be a place where women can rise above their past and move forward with strength, dignity, and hope.

Our Heart Behind the Program

We are not just passionate about recovery. We are part of the recovery community.

We believe women deserve a safe and supportive place to heal, grow, and rebuild. Our goal is to help each resident develop the tools, mindset, and support system needed to live a stable, sober, and purpose-driven life.

Sharing these stories of recovery and growth is vital because they illustrate that genuine change is achievable.

From the Ashes Women’s Recovery House

Many women struggling with addiction, instability, or difficult life circumstances feel isolated and believe their situation is insurmountable. Hearing the journeys of those who have navigated similar paths and emerged stronger offers them essential hope.

These narratives also serve to dismantle the stigma frequently associated with addiction and recovery, reminding everyone that the women in our program are defined by their courage and hard work, not by past mistakes. Their progress, determination, and growth are recognized and celebrated.

Ultimately, these stories highlight the profound impact of community, accountability, and unwavering support. They demonstrate how a safe environment and the right resources empower women to rebuild their lives with dignity, purpose, and lasting stability.

When women succeed at From the Ashes, their positive influence extends to their families and the broader community. As they restore trust, strengthen relationships, and become dependable presences in their loved ones' lives, they create healthier family dynamics. Their children witness firsthand the power of perseverance, sobriety, and consistent effort, setting a new course for future generations.

Furthermore, women who achieve stability contribute meaningfully to society by maintaining employment and becoming pillars of support within the recovery community. They share their experiences, inspiring others and reinforcing the belief that transformation is possible.

The success of these women exemplifies the strength found in rising from adversity, proving that from the ashes, we indeed rise stronger.
